Education on Lactation w/ Breastfeeding Class, Welcome Home Video Series with Mini-Consult & Yoga
Well, when I gave birth to my first born, almost 30 years ago, I had no idea how hard the first week would be. So that experience started to my journey into breastfeeding. After my second, I became an IBCLC. I am now an expert in the field of lactation. I am currently an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant, a Birth Doula and Postpartum Doula. Also the 2022 March of Dimes Woman of Achievement in the Field of Health recipient. I am also a super fan of educated choice. Especially about breastfeeding.
As a seasoned hospital-based IBCLC on a family-centered maternity unit with 4 Donnas, one day a fellow staff nurse was frantically looking for "the Donna for the boobs, Boob Donna" and my nickname was born.
Are you smiling yet? That is the point. I am Boob Donna.
So whether you choose to breastfeed a day, a month, a year or more, I am all about positive support. I care about mom's mental health from conception to weaning. For some, this breastfeeding thing will come easy and for some new parents - in the first few weeks - this will be super hard. I can help make your life a little bit easier in this life stage with no judgement, and lots of kindness and positivity. I'm all about the love hormone, oxytocin. Oxytocin is a powerful neurohormone within all mammals - a hormone that is released when we give birth, when we lactate, when we cuddle and when we laugh.
You can define your own success. Knowledge is powerful. I hope what you find here helpful. Peace and love to you.
FYI: I love to do it live. Available for lectures to anyone who'd like a lecture. I can speak to OBGYNs, Midwives, Pediatricians, Doulas, Birth Workers, and Lactation Groups, CV provided upon request.
